Home/High-Security

When the perimeter
has to hold.

High-security work is a different discipline from commercial fencing, and it is where our deepest track record lives. Detention-grade fencing, crash-rated barriers, secured gates, and access control, engineered and self-performed as one system.

A different discipline

A commercial fence keeps honest people out. A high-security perimeter is engineered to stop the rest.

Sites governed by real security requirements, correctional facilities, airfields, federal campuses, utilities, mission-critical facilities, cannot buy their perimeter as five separate purchases. The fence line, barriers, gates, access control, and detection have to perform as one system.

We design, fabricate, and install that system, and we self-perform the work. One contractor engineers it, builds it, and stands behind it.

  • Detention-grade and anti-climb systems
  • Crash-rated vehicle barriers
  • Secured and automated gates
  • Integrated access control
The systems

Engineered for the threat, built to the standard.

Detention-grade fencing

Correctional-standard perimeters built for state DOC facilities: tall, tight-mesh, reinforced systems with no gaps and no climb aids.

  • 12 to 16 ft detention perimeters
  • Razor ribbon and concertina
  • Non-lethal electric fence integration
  • Tunneling barriers and security poles

Anti-climb and anti-cut systems

High-security mesh and fabric engineered to defeat climbing, cutting, and scaling, for perimeters where deterrence is not enough.

  • Anti-climb welded and woven mesh
  • Security toppings and outriggers
  • Screened and reinforced boundaries

Crash-rated vehicle barriers

Engineered vehicle mitigation to recognized crash standards such as ASTM F2656: bollards, wedges, beams, and crash-rated gates that establish standoff.

  • Fixed, removable, and retractable bollards
  • Wedge barriers and drop beams
  • Crash-rated gate systems
  • Standoff and approach design

Secured gates and access control

Automated slide, swing, and vertical-pivot gates with the access layer built in, so entry is controlled, logged, and fast for the people who belong.

  • Card reader, keypad, and biometric entry
  • Full-height turnstile banks
  • HySecurity and commercial operators
  • Guard booth and detection coordination
Built to the spec

Detention-grade means detention-grade.

Sixteen-foot electrified perimeter. Razor ribbon. Zero gaps. When a state department of corrections writes the standard, we build to it, not around it.

What we secure

Sites governed by real requirements.

Mission-critical infrastructure

When downtime is not an option.

Data centers, substations, water treatment, telecom, and mission-critical manufacturing run around the clock. Their perimeters have to be built, upgraded, and serviced without taking the site down. That is a discipline of its own, and we plan for it on every mission-critical project.

Standoff & vehicle mitigation

Crash-rated bollards, wedges, and gates that establish standoff distance before a vehicle ever reaches the asset.

Zero-downtime phasing

Perimeter replacement and upgrades sequenced so the facility never loses its secure line or its operations.

Layered protection

Anti-climb fencing, detection-ready fence lines, secured gates, and controlled entry working as one system.

Compliance & coordination

Built to the owner’s security spec and coordinated with electrical, detection, and monitoring trades on site.

Energy & utilities

Substation and facility perimeters with anti-climb systems and controlled entry, built around live equipment.

Data centers

Anti-climb perimeter, vehicle mitigation, and secured access for the sites that cannot go dark.

Secure a Mission-Critical Site
How we deliver

Built for how GCs and agencies buy.

Secured sites are procurement-heavy and coordination-heavy. Our process is built for both.

Estimate & engineer

In-house estimating and CAD produce the pricing, drawings, and submittal package the project requires.

Fabricate

Gates, barriers, and custom steel built in-house by Metal City Fab, to the drawing, on the schedule.

Install, self-performed

Our own crews and foremen execute the work, with the phasing and security coordination occupied sites demand.

Service the system

Operators, access control, and fence line maintained by our service team, year after year.

Proof under pressure.

FAQ

Answers for the people specifying the perimeter.

What is detention-grade fencing?
Detention-grade fencing is perimeter fencing built to correctional standards: taller fabric, tighter mesh that resists climbing and cutting, reinforced framework, razor ribbon or concertina, and construction details that eliminate gaps and climb aids. We have built it for Michigan Department of Corrections facilities including Gus Harrison and Parnall.
What are K-rated and crash-rated barriers?
Crash-rated barriers, bollards, wedges, beams, and gates, are engineered and tested to stop a vehicle of a specific weight at a specific speed, per standards like ASTM F2656. We design and install crash-rated systems as part of an integrated perimeter for sites that require vehicle standoff.
Can you integrate access control with the perimeter?
Yes. Card readers, keypads, biometric entry, turnstiles, and automated gate operators are designed and installed as one system with the fence line and barriers, so the perimeter performs as a whole and one contractor stands behind it.
Do you work on active, occupied secure facilities?
Yes. Our crews have worked on active correctional facilities, a functioning VA medical campus, and live airfields. We plan the phasing, security coordination, and safety requirements that occupied secure sites demand.
Do you self-perform high-security work?
Yes. Our own crews install the work, backed by in-house estimating, engineering, and fabrication. We do not sub out the perimeter.
What sites need high-security perimeter systems?
Correctional and detention facilities, airports, federal and government campuses, utilities and substations, data centers, and mission-critical facilities, anywhere a real security requirement governs the perimeter.
